By now you should be bouncing around after your week full of juices and smoothies and healthy eating. This juice / smoothie tops the week off with a good all round anti-oxidant boost to take you into your 2nd week of plant based food.
I use pineapples in practically every juice or smoothie I make, you can extract a lot of juice from 1/2 a pineapple so I make sure they are a part of my everyday juice. Pineapples contain an enzyme called Bromelain which digests food by breaking down protein. Pineapples are also anti-inflammatory (good for arthritis sufferers), anti-clotting and have anti-cancer properties. They are also rich in vitamin C (boosting your immune system) and rich in B complex vitamins like folates. An all round Goodun I’d say!
serves 3 pint glasses. If you are making this smoothie just for you then make up this amount for the day and put the remainder in a sealed flask which will keep the smoothie fresh for 24 hours, I do this all the time, especially if I’m going out for the day and need feeding!
2 green apples
2 red apples
1 thumb of fresh ginger
2 large carrots
Juice pineapple, apples, lime, carrot, ginger and orange. Blend with the avocado and bananas.
