I have a real treat for you! I’ve been wanting to make my own brownies for a while and last night I created these guilt free indulgent raw chocolate brownies made with organic raw cacao and maca…I wanted a recipe that was nutritionally super good for you, super tasty and mouth smackingly gooey like you’d expect a brownie to be and a brownie that’s easy to make and not too much mess…. voila, Beanies Raw Chocolate Brownies…
As you’ll know from reading about my raw chocs, raw cacao is an amazing food which comes from the Theobroma cacao tree. Raw cacao is a mood lifter, contains an amino acid called Tryptophan which calms and relaxes you and contains phenylethylamine (PEA) which increases feelings of love. Some of the many nutritional benefits of this wonderful food are that it contains fibre and essential fatty acids including omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin C, minerals including iron, chromium, theobromine, manganese, copper and zinc.
makes approx 12 brownies
130g organic cacao powder
65g coconut oil
150g soaked dates chopped roughly
1 tablespoon maca powder
1 ripe avocado chopped roughly
150g crunchy organic peanut butter
pinch of rock salt
Pre-soak the dates in warm water for about 20 minutes until they’re deliciously soft, drain and roughly chop. Melt the coconut oil by placing it in a bowl within a bowl of hot water. In a food processor add all the ingredients apart from the peanut butter and blend together to form crumbs.
Gradually add the peanut butter and loosely blend to keep the crunchiness of the peanuts. Place in a greaseproof paper lined tin and place in the fridge to set for about an hour.
Remove from the tin and chop into squares and enjoy! nom nom…
